Located in the “Barton Arts District” is Grapevine’s only Pottery Studio and eclectic Art Gallery. In addition to shopping for handmade gifts, Art & Clay on Barton offers it’s guests a creative experience, whether it’s getting your hands muddy with clay or painting all day in our paint-your-own-pottery studio filled with bisque made on-site in our studio. Enjoy no hourly sitting fees. And if your in town on a Friday and you smell something burning, it’s Raku Friday in the studio at Art & Clay on Barton where guests can observe or for a small fee can join in the fun of experiencing the ancient Japanese art of Raku firing.
Check out our website for schedules and details, www.artandclayonbarton.com. For over ten years now the Gallery has hosted a venue of affordable mixed media handmade items ranging from blown glass to “knock your socks off” jewelry by local, national and international artists. Upon entering the shop you’ll be amazed at the Texas size assortment of glass marbles, in sizes from small to enormous. We even have an artsy public bathroom, complete with a hand blown sink and glass marble and handmade beads countertop. In 2001, Southern Living Magazine cited the gallery as being “sophisticated, chic and contemporary” and that although Barton Street is buried behind Main Street, “often the best is hard to find.” Shipping and complimentary gift wrapping is available. |
